He's here! He's finally here! On Sunday October 25th, I had contractions all day long. I finally started timing them steadily around 2:30 p..m. and they were 5-7 minutes apart. We had a stake meeting that night at 4:30 p.m., and the contractions went to every 2-5 minutes. That meeting was excruciatingly long and uncomfortable for me. As soon as we found out what ward we were in, we left and went to Jeff's parent's house for dinner. On the way to their house, I called the hospital to see at what point I should go in and get checked. The nurse told me it was up to me, and gave me some suggestions to see if it was true labor if it was false. After contracting through an entire movie, we decided to go and checked out. After an hour and a half of being monitored, the nurses checked me and I had gone from a 2 to a 4. The doctor was there rather quickly and ready to break my water. He made a goal of having the baby by 8:00 a.m. He paused, and got the ultrasound machine to verify the baby's position. He found the baby's head up by my ribs, meaning he was breach, and told me we had to have a c-section. I was unfashionably calm through the whole thing. A few minutes later at 1:47 a.m. our beautiful baby boy was born. He was wide-eyed, alert and darling. He weighed 6lbs 6 oz and was 20.5 inches long. The above picture was right after he was born.
Pardon the look on my face! It was almost 2:00 in the morning, and I was exhausted! and feeling great after the spinal! For the first day, we called Landon our little old man because that's what he looked like. He was so long and skinny, but we love him, and glad he's finally here.
Here's the proud papa! Jeff's family came over the next day and the pictures were being snapped all over the place. Our son faces a long life of "snap happy" grandparents! :)
If you look closely you can see that he already has his father's attitude! He decided to give Grandpa Curtis the "bird". He's just telling us all that he loves us!
Our little squirt a few days after we got home! The first night home he went through 3 pairs of pajamas, 2 blankets, and lots and lots of diapers. Wow! What a wake up call for us new parents! We love him more each day, and glad we were blessed with such a sweet boy!
